October 10, 1804
Snow Hurricane of 1804; tropical storm moving northeast over southern New England caused gales, thunder, heavy precipitation; press estimated snow depths 36" to 48" fell on higher elevations; Farmers Cabinet at Walpole, N.H., thought 15" to 18" accumulated in valley, but much melted; enormous damage to orchard trees.

October 10, 1925
Famous October Weekend Snow of 1925; up to 24" reported in Stowe Valley with entire state having some; Burlington 4.3", Northfield 5"; highways had to be plowed; many football games cancelled.

NOTE We leave the minor discrepancy between 4.3" and 4.4" at Burlington to the superior research skills of weather historians.
