THE VERMONT WEATHER BOOK by David Ludlum (Vermont Historical Society, 1996) lists the following Historic Weather Events for October 6:

October 6, 1836
Second snowfall in a week; Bennington had snowflakes mixed with rain, but Manchester Mountain all white on 7th. Camel’s Hump and northern peaks also
covered.

October 6, 1932
Heavy rains: Burlington 4.21" in twenty-four hours; St. Albans 4.31"; Cornwall 4.05".

NOTE: We leave the minor discrepancy between 4.21" and 4.19" at Burlington to the superior research skills of weather historians.
