June 23, 1782
Tornado swarm over southern Vermont: Pawlet and Manchester hit in southwest; path from Weathersfield to Claremont, N.H., reported; hailstones measured 6" in diameter and weighed one pound at Royalton.

June 23, 1940
Light to heavy frosts: 30° at Bennington, Chelsea, Somerset on 22-23rd; 31° at Bloomfield and Cavendish.
