THE VERMONT WEATHER BOOK by David Ludlum (Vermont Historical Society, 1996) lists the following Historic Weather Events for June 1:

June 1, 1924
Cool opening: Garfield 26°, Chelsea 27°, Bloomfield and Cavendish 28°, Burlington and Bennington 35°, Vernon 40°.

NOTE: We leave the two degree discrepancy for Burlington's temperature on this date to the superior research skills of weather historians.

June 1, 1952
Torrential showers resulted in flash floods; Winooski River at Montpelier the highest since 1936. Dorset 3.95", Cornwall 3.61".

June 1, 1967
Mt. Mansfield had 34" snow on ground as result of heavy spring storms.
