THE VERMONT WEATHER BOOK by David Ludlum (Vermont Historical Society, 1996) lists the following Historic Weather Events for May 30:

May 30, 1884
Randolph: “on 28th, 29th, and 30th, there were hard freezes, and on 30th there was a snowstorm that will long be remembered, as the flowers that decorate the soldiers’ graves were covered with snowflakes.” Lunenburg reported 2" snow and 35°. (Monthly weather report to Signal Service).
