THE VERMONT WEATHER BOOK by David Ludlum (Vermont Historical Society, 1996) lists the following Historic Weather Events for May 20:

May 20, 1892
Strafford: “The snowstorm on the 20-21st was the greatest in the memory of the oldest inhabitants here so near to the close of the month” (New England Meteorological Bulletin, May 1892); surrounding hills covered up to 28"; North Bridgewater reported 30", Northfield in valley but 10".
