Heavy snow near Keene, N.H.: “Snow commenced on 4th, lay 10 to 12 inches deep on high lands next morning” (New Hampshire Sentinel).

May 5, 1873
Brattleboro-Bennington stage on wheels instead of sleigh runners at Wilmington for first time that season.
