THE VERMONT WEATHER BOOK by David Ludlum (Vermont Historical Society, 1996) lists the following Historic Weather Events for April 30:

April 30, 1874
Woodstock received another snowstorm of 10" as final installment to record April total of 49". “It is not every April 30th that sleighs are running in the streets of Woodstock” (Vermont Standard). St. Johnsbury reported “nearly three feet” on ground.
