THE VERMONT WEATHER BOOK by David Ludlum (Vermont Historical Society, 1996) lists the following Historic Weather Events for April 16:

April 16, 1852
Late-season snowstorm left 18" at Newbury, 16" at Randolph; 6" at Burlington; Hanover, N.H., had 33" total in April.

NOTE: Ludlum's 6" at Burlington derives from historical records that go back further than the official National Weather Service snow records, which began in 1906.
