March 5, 1872
Severely cold day: Lunenburg had -25°, -10°, and -18° at the three observation hours: “5 & 6 were the coldest days of the winter. The wind at so low a temperature made it impossible for people to move about much of the day,” Hiram Cutting in his record book.
