THE VERMONT WEATHER BOOK by David Ludlum (Vermont Historical Society, 1996) lists the following Historic Weather Events for March 2:

March 2, 1900
The two-day Great March Storm of '00 ends — the “worst since March 1888”. At Northfield, 30" of new snow in 36 hours; at Woodstock and Derby, 40"; at Burlington, 14".
