THE VERMONT WEATHER BOOK by David Ludlum (Vermont Historical Society, 1996) lists the following Historic Weather Events for January 14:

January 14, 1934 Burlington’s most concentrated snowfall: 24.2" in 24 hours.

NOTE: There was 1.6" of snow on January 13 and 23.1" on January 14, so a 24-hour total of 24.2" was possible. The National Weather Service record of 23.1" is for the calendar day January 14.
